" Translation Helps Study" (eduhope.cn) is an independent, volunteer-based and nonprofit organization that aims to provide financial support to children facing difficulties in education due to poverty.
To understand the development of China's NGO sector, please refer to the article on the website of BOND (British Overseas NGOs for Development).
I come from a poor region in East China’s Shandong Province. After graduating from Nankai University in 2001, I worked as an editor for an English language news portal in Beijing, studied for two years in Europe from 2007 to 2009, and worked in news media for six more years. Now I am a freelancer based in Beijing.
I believe education is very important for both individual and community development. I also believe that the best way to help the poverty-stricken children is not to make donations once or twice a year through the government organized campaigns, but to establish an interactive platform for those in need and those who can help. In this way I am trying to explore a better way of education assistance to continuously support children’s education and prepare them for a better tomorrow, a better future.

The website www.eduhope.cn was launched in August 2006 to unite translators around China and provide the high-quality translation service for both individuals and companies.
For the income, 60 percent (at least 50 percent in the beginning and now 60 percent) of the earnings will be donated to the credible organizations or individuals who are in need, 30 percent will be paid to translators, and the remaining 10 percent will be used to manage the website and program. All financial recordings will be posted online to ensure maximum transparency.
We warmly welcome translators
English major graduates, experienced translators, or volunteers are warmly welcomed to join the team. Translators should ensure the highest quality translations, unconditionally respect and protect the privacy of clients and be fully responsible for translation work. We also work with native English speakers to proofread the translation.
The price for translation, from English to Chinese, or from Chinese to English, is 200-300 yuan for every 1,000 English words or Chinese characters depending on the level of difficulty. Translation can be done within 48 hours for less than 4,000 words or Chinese characters.
Because this is a nonprofit program, we regret that we can’t translate materials of more than 10,000 words or Chinese characters. We will send you a confirmation letter specifying the cost and terms once you have submitted the material.
Thank you for supporting the education of underprivileged Chinese children. Help give them a better future. WE CAN!
